Mission & Outreach
The Missions & Outreach efforts of First Church are coordinated by the Missions Committee. Our goals are two-fold: (1) to effectively utilize gifts from our congregation to provide financial support to organizations that reach out to show Christ's love to those in need, both locally and internationally, and (2) to provide our congregation with opportunities to engage directly in those efforts.
FPCP, through the Missions Committee, supports organizations and outreach, including volunteer activities where appropriate, in areas such as:
Collaborating with local mission partners to support educational initiatives and camps, to mitigate the impact of homelessness, hunger, and food insecurity, and to advocate on behalf of the marginalized. Our partner agencies include:
Working with community building and environmental efforts including the Urban Tree Connection, the Christian Association at the University of Pennsylvania, the Interfaith Philadelphia, the Covenant Network, the Presbyterian Historical Society, National Homicide Justice Alliance
Each year, the Missions Committee reviews applications for funding . If your organization seeks funding from FPCP, please download and complete a grant application. Applications for 2020 are due by September 15, 2019. Completed applications may be sent to the Missions Committee at the church address or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
