Parents of young children are invited to join us for a new series of monthly programs to be held at 10 AM, immediately following the Celebration Service, while the children are at Sunday School or in the nursery.

We hope to provide a space for parents to have informal but meaningful dialogue on a broad range of topics related to parenting in the modern Christian faith, and that the series will foster deeper connection and community among the FPC young families.

On October 5, our topic is "Pragmatic ways to incorporate faith into your family life." Please join us in the MacColl Room.

Every Sunday, we invite children ages 2-to-12 years old to join us for Children’s Sunday School after our Celebration Service from 9:50-10:30 am in Old Buttonwood Hall. We will be telling Bible stories, making crafts, and learning about how to share Christ’s love to the world. We will primarily be using curriculum from Godly Play, which explores stories from the Old and New Testament using play-based story-telling.

We invite parents to fill out our 2025-2026 Sunday School Registration Form during the first few weeks of Children’s Sunday School so we can best care for your kids in class.

• September 28 - The Church Calendar and God’s Time Lesson

• October 5 - World Communion Sunday Lesson

• October 12 - Creation Lesson/Animals Blessing Lesson

• October 19 - The Tower of Babel Lesson

You are invited to join us for our Young Families Zoo Trip on Sunday, June 1. FPC Families will meet at the Philadelphia Zoo around 10:45 am and spend a few hours visiting our favorite animals. FPC will cover the cost of entrance tickets. Please email Laura if you are interested and let her know how many tickets you will need.

FPC Kids Night is back! On Friday, December 6, from 5-8 PM, we are inviting kids to join us at First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia for pizza, snacks, crafts, games, and a movie. While your kids hang out with us, parents and guardians are able to have a night to themselves.

Here’s the info for the event:

• The event is for children 2 years old and up.

• There will be a maximum of 20 children at the event.

• We will have 3-4 certified adults leading the event, including Pastor Laura.

• This event is free for FPC members and regular attendees.

On Sunday, September 29, at 9:45 a.m. in the MacColl Room, Dr. Michael “Chip” Rotolo, a former seminary intern at First Church, will speak on religious parenting and the transmission of faith and values. Dr. Rotolo is a Research Associate at Pew Research Center in Washington, DC. This program grows out of his research examining the interplay of religion, morality, and politics in the United States, as well as his own experience in the Church and as a parent.

Children’s Sunday School is back, starting Sunday, September 17th! 

We invite children ages 2-to-10 years old to join us for Sunday School every Sunday after our Celebration! Service from 9:50-10:30 AM. We will be reading Bible stories, making crafts, singing songs, and learning about how to share Christ’s love to the world.

• We are planning additional Children’s Education activities outside of Sunday School for the fall and winter and we will keep you posted on upcoming gatherings.

• Children’s Education Survey: We’d love to hear what parents of young children are looking for in Sunday School and Children’s Education at FPC by filling out our survey.
