Journey through the history of Christian art and uncover how artists across centuries respond to and transformed their faith. This course will provide a brief survey and illuminate the stories behind a smattering sacred paintings, sculptures, and icons from the early church to the modern era. The experience culminates in a guided visit to the Princeton University Art Museum on June 13, where participants will engage directly with extraordinary works from the museum’s collection both as works of historical and cultural significance and sites of devotional encounter with the divine.
