Visitor's Guide

Welcome! Whether you are visiting us for the first time virtually or you have attended a Sunday worship, here are some resources that will help you learn more about First Church.

What we do we believe?

We affirm the faith of the Church that Christ Jesus died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day and appeared to his followers.

We believe that wherever the gospel of the Risen Lord is shared and embraced by faith that new life is possible, however great the obstacles.

When are services?

9:00 a.m. - Celebration! Worship Service (Old Buttonwood Hall)
9:45 a.m. - Christian Education for Adults and Children (September-May)
11:00 a.m. - Traditional Worship Service
12:15 p.m. - Fellowship Hour (following service)

What should you expect?

Our worship is traditional, with a strong emphasis upon preaching and music. You can view a copy of Sunday's bulletin online (usually available by Friday), and sermons are also available online.

As for what to wear, come as you are!  Attire at First Church can vary from shorts & sandals to dresses & suits.

Where are we located?

We are located on the SE corner of 21st and Walnut streets, just two blocks from beautiful Rittenhouse Square. There is easy access from major highways and public transportation.

Detailed information can be found on our Directions page.

Is childcare provided?

Yes, a nursery is available on Sundays from 9:30AM - 12:30PM for infants & toddlers. Our friendly caretakers are CPR-certified and background checked. The nursery is located in the basement of the church; it can be reached easily via our 21st Street entrance.
