Minister for Congregational Care
The First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia (FPCP) seeks a part-time Minister for Congregational Care. Reporting to the Pastor/Head of Staff, the position is one of two staff liaisons to the Board of Deacons. The estimated workload is approximately 10 to 12 hours a week.
Position Overview
The Minister for Congregational Care will work closely with the Pastor, the Deacons, and a congregational care team to ensure that the church actively engages in an ongoing program of spiritual and emotional support for its members and friends, and provides such care as necessary and appropriate, in response to the needs of members and friends of the church.

Specific Responsibilities
Provide leadership as convener of a congregational care team, organizing and overseeing efforts to reach out to all members and friends of the church on a regular basis
Compile, maintain, and provide to the team the information needed to do its work, including contact information of members and friends of the church who need pastoral care and information about the status and needs of those individuals
Arrange for monthly meetings of the team to discuss the congregational care needs and plan for outreach to identified individuals, with the expectation of meaningful monthly contact, by the Minister for Congregational Care or a team member, in person, by telephone, or by videoconference as appropriate
Assist with emergency hospital visitation as needed and in consultation with the Pastor
Assist in worship on an occasional basis as needed
